Ethereum network fees remain near historic lows even as on-chain activity hits new highs, with daily transactions exceeding 1.6 million — the highest level since October’s market downturn.
According to Milkroad, the average transaction fee on Ethereum’s mainnet is just 0.16 gwei (≈$0.01), while token swaps cost around $0.15 and NFT trades about $0.27.
Despite rising network usage, fees have stayed stable thanks to recent upgrades — Dencun and Pectra — aimed at improving scalability and reducing costs.
Data from Nansen shows active Ethereum addresses climbed to a monthly high of 695,872, signaling strong network engagement with minimal costs.
The Pectra upgrade in May doubled L2 blob capacity, cutting Layer 2 transaction fees by about 50%, while Dencun (March 2024) reduced L2 costs by up to 95%.
Ethereum’s ability to handle rising activity with low fees highlights its growing maturity and readiness for large-scale use across DeFi, NFTs, and enterprise applications.
